The book that I am reading now is called “Apocalypse 2012” by Lawrence E. Joseph (link to authors website) and its one that I’m very interested in. Usually it takes me months to read an average book because I typically only read when I’m going to bed and with all of the work we’ve been doing around the house preparing to sell it I have been more tired than I was interested in reading. This book has changed this perspective for me. This book I can’t wait to get home and settle down and get back to reading. I’m already more than half done and I just started reading this last week. The previous books I’ve read about 2012 and the end of the earth and the prophecies related to it have all been from a shamanistic perspective. The authors have gone down to South America and have visited and/or particpated in ceremonies with Mayan descendant shamans. It has all been about drug-induced visions and getting in touch with the noosphere (the “force” as it were…lol). It was all about understanding.
This book by Mr. Joseph gets into scientific details of specific aspects of what is coming in the year 2012 and since its now a year or so since he wrote his book, some of the aspects that he’s talked about already seem to be happening or coming true. What I like about this book so far is the way the author has gone the route of other 2012 authors and have visited the Mayan descendants and have learned from them, but he seems to also take everything he learns with a grain of salt and tries to somehow prove or disprove everything he discovers. He’s not swayed by religious beliefs or even swayed by the shamans and their magical ways. He delves into alot of different scientific areas of study and presents to the reader an indepth discussion of how this particular aspect features in the whole 2012 mythology. I like that!
If you have any interest in the 2012 mythologies, this book is a must-read.
