Evel Knievil

This past friday marked the passing of Evel Knievil. Growing up in the 70’s he was an amazing icon of the times. He started out from nothing, doing stuff that nobody else at the time was doing, or at least doing as well as he. Everywhere you went, everything you did, there he was in some form or another. He had cartoons and toys and was right up there with the likes of “Snake” and the “Mongoose” and “BigFoot”.

I never had the chance to see him live, but every opportunity there was to see any of his jumps on TV I watched with great interest. He was an original.

I never saw him live either, but I did see his son Robbie smash up his bike and body a few years back in Las Vegas.
